Google uses a number of sources to automatically determine the appropriate snippet, such as meta descriptions, markup, or any other information found on the page.

Therefore, to help you create a high-quality meta description that will show up in the search snippet, Google updates the documentation. It provided examples of good and bad meta descriptions to help users understand and create more accurate descriptions.

Bad meta descriptions include those descriptions which are simply just a list of keywords and nothing else, are repeated for every new article and are templates, do not summarise the page, or are too short and self-explanatory.

On the other hand, the list of good meta descriptions includes those descriptions which describe the business, not just the webpage, use webpage content, summarise the entire page in the best way, and which are specific and detailed.
