Google updated URL Inspection API for Search Console!
Last year, Google launched Search Console, a collection of tools and reports to help website operators analyze, manage, and increase traffic on their websites. One can check for crawling errors, run search queries, and optimize the visibility of your websites on search engines in a few easy steps.
In the most recent update, Google announced the launch of a new URL Inspection API that will help SEOs and publishers figure out issues related to webpages and solve them more efficiently. They can now request information about the currently indexed version of a URL and the API integrated tools can provide the latest information about the URL for better debugging. The API can also help discover new URLs for crawling and further add orphaned URLs to site audit reports.
At present, the Search Console API allows apps such as Screaming Frog to collect search console data like clicks, CTR, and positions.
Furthermore, a page experience report for desktop has also been added to the Search Console dashboard that helps to understand the “good page experience” criteria of Google. You can access the report on the Google Search Console for free through the Experience tab and clicking on the Page Experience link.
