In the latest Facebook news & updates, Meta announced a new in-app browser on Android that will replace the standard Android System WebView to enhance performance and security along with the stability of the application.
Over the past few years, “users have been updating their Facebook app but not updating their Chrome and WebView apps, which may result in security risks and a negative user experience.”
Therefore, like Mozilla, Microsoft, and Samsung, Facebook will now also utilize a custom in-app browser on Android to provide security to its users, reduce app crashes, and enhance their performance.
The change will improve security and performance and reduce app crashes when people view websites in the Facebook app.
