Harjeet Singh is a prominent Indian field hockey midfielder celebrated for his inspiring journey from humble beginnings in Punjab to international success. Introduced to hockey at a young age, he honed his skills at the Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar, a breeding ground for many of India’s top players. His talent quickly propelled him through the ranks, representing Punjab in junior tournaments and making his senior debut at the 2013 Asian Champions Trophy. Harjeet gained national attention when he captained the Indian junior team to an unbeaten victory at the 2016 Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup in Lucknow—making India the first host nation to win the title. He was also honored with the “Jugraj Singh Upcoming Player of the Year” award by Hockey India in 2015.

Off the field, Harjeet’s determination stood out as he overcame financial hardships—his father was a truck driver—and remained committed to the sport despite early struggles. His club career includes playing for the Uttar Pradesh Wizards and Delhi Waveriders in the Hockey India League, as well as Dutch club HGC in the Euro Hockey League.
