Gurjant Singh, hailing from Khailara in Punjab’s Amritsar district, is a dynamic hockey player & forward in the Indian men’s hockey team. Inspired by his cousins who played hockey in Batala, he began training at the Chandigarh Hockey Academy in 2005. He rose through the ranks, making a mark in the Junior World Cup 2016 by scoring crucial goals in both the semifinal & final, helping India secure the gold. He made his senior international debut in 2017 & has since become a reliable presence in the national setup.

A key contributor to India’s historic bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics & a gold medalist at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, hockey player Gurjant Singh has also earned accolades in the Asia Cup, Commonwealth Games, & Asian Champions Trophy. Known for his agility, goal-scoring instinct, & versatility in playing both as a striker & attacking midfielder, he has crossed 120 international caps with 30+ goals. Despite setbacks from injuries early in his career, Gurjant has made a strong comeback & continues to play a vital role in India’s forward line.
