Boby Singh Dhami, a promising young hockey player in Indian men’s field hockey, hails from Katiyani village in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Despite facing personal hardships, including a family tragedy, he was introduced to hockey by his maternal uncle—a former national-level player & coach. His passion for the game was nurtured at Dehradun’s Maharana Pratap Sports College & further honed at SAI Sonepat, where he trained under seasoned mentors. He made his mark with India’s U-21 team at the Junior World Cup in 2021 & went on to win gold at the 2022 Sultan of Johor Cup. As vice-captain, he led the team to victory at the 2023 Junior Asia Cup, scoring six goals, including a memorable semi-final hat-trick.

In 2024, hockey player Boby Singh Dhami earned his senior India debut against Australia, scoring his first international goal in the same match. He has since joined the 2023–24 FIH Pro League squad & continues to impress at the international level. Boby, a dynamic forward known for his speed & sharp instincts, represents Haryana & the Food Corporation of India at the domestic level & was also signed by the Kalinga Lancers for the 2024 Hockey India League. His journey, marked by resilience, passion, & emerging leadership, firmly establishes him as a leading figure in the future of Indian hockey.
