Aditya Arjun Lalage, a promising young hockey player in Indian hockey, hails from Vidala village in Maharashtra’s Satara district. Coming from a humble sugarcane-farming family with no prior hockey background, his love for the sport was ignited by watching Chak De! India. He began his training at Krida Prabodhini Academy and later joined a sports hostel in Pune under the mentorship of Olympic veteran Ajit Lakra. His breakthrough came when he emerged as Maharashtra’s top scorer in sub-junior national tournaments, earning a call-up to the junior national camp in 2022. The talented hockey player played a pivotal role in India’s gold-winning campaign at the Junior Asia Cup 2023 and contributed to a bronze medal at the Sultan of Johor Cup the same year. He made a notable impact at the FIH Junior World Cup 2023, scoring three goals, including an impressive brace against Canada.

Aditya made his senior team debut in October 2024 against Germany in New Delhi, making an impact even in a dramatic penalty shootout. Known for his blistering pace, quick dribbling, and sharp body feints, the rising hockey player currently represents Maharashtra and the Services Sports Control Board domestically. He plays for the Delhi SG Pipers in the Hockey India League. Coach Craig Fulton has described him as an exciting new talent, and his rapid rise reflects the emergence of a confident, aggressive new generation in Indian hockey.
